News in the upper floors of the world ranking of the richest men in the world. Gautam Adani, 60, an Indian businessman already the richest man in Asia, has become the third wealthiest person in the world, ousting the king of luxury Bernard Arnault.
Never had an Asian occupied such a high post. This is what emerges from the latest update of the Bloomberg Billionaire Index ranking. Also this year it is the United States that boasts more billionaires than any other country: 735 (up from 724 in 2021).
China remains second with 607 (including Hong Kong and Macau), followed by India (166), Germany (134) and Russia (83). Mukesh Ambani of India remains the richest person in Asia.
