Hollywood is full of celebrities whose origins we do not know much about and who we very often consider "American". In some cases it is easy to understand the origins of some celebrities from their surnames, while in other cases it is really unsuspected. The actress was born to an American mother and an Israeli father in Jerusalem, Israel, in 1981. When Natalie was 3 years old the family moved to Washington DC, and later in Connecticut and Long Island, New York.
